XL Tasmanian Jade sterling silver dangle earrings

$198.00

We slice the Tasmanian Jade in our dangle earrings thinly to reduce their weight. This also makes them translucent when backlit and gives them a spectacular glow when worn in the sun.

handmade solid sterling silver hooks

length (including hooks) - 8cm

-

Tasmanian Jade comes from a short stretch of coastline near Trial Harbour on the West Coast of Tasmania. Geologically speaking the mineral should not have occurred where it did, making it even more special. Originally the material was a Serpentine, which over a long period of time was heated and changed composition into the Nephrite Jade that we find today.

The Jade can come in a variety of colours and is often found with several metal & mineral inclusions, such as black magnetite, nickel, garnet & diopside.
