Tasmanian Jade sterling silver bead earrings

$68.00

Handmade, hand drilled Tasmanian Jade beads made from offcuts

Solid sterling silver hooks and findings

-

Tasmanian Jade comes from a short stretch of coastline near Trial Harbour on the West Coast of Tasmania. Geologically speaking the mineral should not have occurred where it did, making it even more special. Originally the material was a Serpentine, which over a long period of time was heated and changed composition into the Nephrite Jade that we find today.

The Jade can come in a variety of colours and is often found with several metal & mineral inclusions, such as black magnetite, nickel, garnet & diopside.
